Why We Created This Handbook

We believe that clear communication and strong partnerships between home and school are essential to student success. This handbook was thoughtfully developed to answer common questions, establish consistent expectations, and provide families with the information they need to support their child's educational journey.

Developed with Our Community

This handbook was developed through the collaborative efforts of the Ruth Grimes Elementary administrative team, teachers, classified staff, and district guidance, with valuable input from our parent advisory groups, including the Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), School Site Council (SSC), and English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC). By incorporating the perspectives of staff and families, this handbook reflects our shared commitment to creating a safe, welcoming, and successful learning environment for every student.

As our school continues to grow and improve, this handbook may be updated throughout the year to reflect new programs, procedures, or district guidance. Families will be notified of any significant changes, and the most current version will always be available on our school website.
