Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! I am excited to welcome both our returning and new families as we begin another year of learning, connection, and growth at Ruth Grimes Elementary.

This year, our theme is Level Up: Learning, Leading, Growing Together. At Grimes, we believe every child has the ability to grow academically, socially, and emotionally when they are challenged, supported, and celebrated. Leveling up means encouraging our students to take risks, discover their strengths, become leaders, and continue striving toward their goals each day.

We are also excited to continue our work as a Community School. We know that schools are strongest when families, staff, and community members work together to support our children. Your voice matters, and we are committed to creating meaningful opportunities for families to learn alongside us, share their ideas, and help shape the experiences we provide for our students.

Literacy remains at the heart of our work at Grimes. Whether students are learning in our Dual Language Immersion or English-Only program, we are committed to helping every child become a confident reader, writer, speaker, and thinker. We believe literacy opens doors to opportunity and empowers our students to become lifelong learners.

Ruth Grimes is a special place because of its people and its diversity. Together, we celebrate the many languages, cultures, experiences, and talents that make our school community unique. We are proud to learn from one another and to create a school where every child feels welcomed, valued, and inspired to succeed.

¡Bienvenidos al ciclo escolar 2026–2027! Me llena de alegría dar la bienvenida tanto a nuestras familias que regresan como a aquellas que se integran por primera vez a nuestra comunidad escolar. Esperamos compartir un año lleno de aprendizaje, conexión y crecimiento en la Escuela Primaria Ruth Grimes.

Nuestro tema para este año es ¡Subiendo de Nivel: Aprendiendo, Liderando y Creciendo Juntos! En Grimes, creemos que cada estudiante tiene la capacidad de crecer académica, social y emocionalmente cuando recibe el apoyo, los desafíos y el reconocimiento que necesita. Subir de nivel significa animar a nuestros estudiantes a asumir nuevos retos, descubrir sus fortalezas, desarrollar su liderazgo y continuar esforzándose por alcanzar sus metas cada día.

También nos entusiasma continuar nuestro trabajo como Escuela Comunitaria (Community School). Sabemos que las escuelas son más fuertes cuando las familias, el personal y la comunidad trabajan unidos para apoyar a nuestros niños. Su voz es importante, y estamos comprometidos a crear oportunidades significativas para que las familias aprendan junto con nosotros, compartan sus ideas y contribuyan a enriquecer las experiencias que ofrecemos a nuestros estudiantes.

La alfabetización continúa siendo el corazón de nuestro trabajo en Grimes. Ya sea que los estudiantes formen parte de nuestro programa de Inmersión Dual o del programa de Inglés, estamos comprometidos a ayudarlos a convertirse en lectores, escritores, comunicadores y pensadores seguros de sí mismos. مرحبًا بكم في العام الدراسي 2026–2027! يسعدني أن أرحب بعائلاتنا العائدة والجديدة بينما نبدأ عامًا آخر مليئًا بالتعلّم والتواصل والنمو في مدرسة روث غرايمز الابتدائية.

شعارنا لهذا العام هو «الارتقاء بالمستوى: نتعلّم، ونقود، وننمو معًا». في غرايمز، نؤمن بأن كل طفل يمتلك القدرة على النمو أكاديميًا واجتماعيًا وعاطفيًا عندما يحظى بالدعم والتشجيع والفرص المناسبة للتعلّم. فالارتقاء بالمستوى يعني تشجيع طلابنا على خوض تجارب جديدة، واكتشاف نقاط قوتهم، وتنمية مهاراتهم القيادية، ومواصلة السعي لتحقيق أهدافهم كل يوم.

كما يسعدنا مواصلة رحلتنا كمدرسة مجتمعية (Community School). فنحن نؤمن بأن المدارس تزدهر عندما تتعاون العائلات والموظفون وأفراد المجتمع لدعم أطفالنا. إن صوتكم مهم بالنسبة لنا، ونحن ملتزمون بتوفير فرص هادفة تُمكّن العائلات من التعلّم معنا، ومشاركة أفكارها، والإسهام في إثراء التجارب التعليمية التي نقدمها لطلابنا.

وتبقى مهارات القراءة والكتابة والتواصل في صميم رسالتنا في غرايمز. سواء كان الطلاب يتعلمون في برنامج الانغماس اللغوي الثنائي أو في برنامج اللغة الإنجليزية، فإننا نلتزم بمساعدتهم على أن يصبحوا قرّاء وكتّابًا ومتحدثين ومفكرين واثقين بأنفسهم. ونؤمن بأن إتقان مهارات اللغة يفتح أبواب الفرص أمام طلابنا ويُمكّنهم من أن يكونوا متعلمين مدى الحياة.

Welcome Grimes Families!

As we begin another school year at Ruth Grimes Elementary, I am excited to continue learning and growing alongside our students, staff, and families. Last year was filled with so much to celebrate - from academic growth and student leadership opportunities to the incredible partnerships we built with our families and community. We are proud of all that we've accomplished together and look forward to building on that success this year.

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is Level Up: Learning, Leading, Growing Together. To us, leveling up means challenging ourselves to take the next step - whether that's learning something new, showing kindness to others, becoming a leader, or reaching a personal goal.

At Grimes, we know that families are children's first teachers and leaders. The work we do each day is strongest when we do it together. We look forward to partnering with you through family events, school committees, classroom celebrations, and the many opportunities we'll have to connect throughout the year.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. It's a privilege to be part of their story, and I can't wait to see all that they'll accomplish this year.

Al comenzar un nuevo año escolar en la Escuela Primaria Ruth Grimes, me llena de alegría continuar aprendiendo y creciendo junto a nuestros estudiantes, personal y familias. El año pasado estuvo lleno de logros para celebrar: desde el crecimiento académico y las oportunidades de liderazgo estudiantil hasta las sólidas relaciones que construimos con nuestras familias y comunidad. Nos sentimos orgullosos de todo lo que hemos logrado juntos y esperamos seguir construyendo sobre ese éxito este año.

Nuestro tema para el ciclo escolar 2026-2027 es ¡Subiendo de Nivel: Aprendiendo, Liderando y Creciendo Juntos! Para nosotros, subir de nivel significa retarnos a dar el siguiente paso, ya sea aprender algo nuevo, demostrar bondad hacia los demás, convertirnos en líderes o alcanzar una meta personal.

En Grimes, sabemos que las familias son los primeros maestros y líderes de sus hijos. El trabajo que realizamos cada día es más significativo cuando lo hacemos juntos. Esperamos colaborar con ustedes a través de eventos familiares, comités escolares, celebraciones en el salón de clases y las muchas oportunidades que tendremos para conectarnos durante el año.
